There is a bunch of actors, who, by starring in the movie, ruin the movie completely.

By "starring" here I mean "playing somewhat significant part". Cameos usually don't hurt much — with a few exceptions.

By "ruin the movie" I mean "make the movie unbearable for me to watch". As my opinion is clearly superior to everyone else's, that is all that counts.

Here's the list, which I'll probably amend later:

Konstantin Khabenskiy
Johnny Depp
Bill Murray
Robin Williams
Adam Sandler
Jim Carrey
Steve Martin

Only Khabenskiy ruins everything he touches.

Amazingly, not a single female actor have made this list. I don't know what that means — either my tolerance to actresses is much bigger, or it's easier for the shitty male actor to become a big star than for a female one.

Oh come on. Johnny did play in good movies; Bill is a great actor; Robin did play in good movies; even Jim did.

B точности согласен со списком, предложенным Иваном.

Ещё интересно, что 4 из 6 в списке - комедийные актёры. Существуют ли известные комедийные актрисы?

Adam Sandler кстати, самый "свежий". Может, нам всем просто непонятна текущая молодежная культура :)

What about Eddie Murphy?

I won't say he's a good actor, but he doesn't spoil everything by default.

Ehm... Woopi Goldberg? She's not bad.

> Johnny did play in good movies

True; but those were relatively minor roles. The biggest, probably, was his part in "Chocolate".

> Bill is a great actor

I know of exactly two movies where his "acting" is possible to watch: Zombieland and Darjeeling Limited.

Upd: His brother, however, was simply great in God Bless America.

> Robin did play in good movies

Not aware of a single one. But I haven't seen him in cameos, so I'm willing to give him a benefit of doubt.

> even Jim did

Same thing.

Have you seen Dead Man? How about Groundhog Day, Lost in Translation? Eternal Shining of a Spotless Mind? Birds Cage?

No.

Yes, actively dislike it.

> Lost in Translation?

Partly, couldn't finish it.

> Eternal Shining of a Spotless Mind?

No.

> Birds Cage?

Again — started, found it to be absolute shit, turned off.

Well. Maybe something special with your perception.

What movies do you like?

There are lots of them. If you want the whole list, I'm afraid, it won't fit into the comment.

It's hard to say which movie is your favorite — there are many close contenders. Perhaps it's "Moonstruck", with Cher. Or, maybe, "Secondhand Lions", with Michael Caine and Robert Duvall. Or "King's speech" with Colin Firth and Geoffrey Rush.

I would really recommend "Inception" by Nolan, "Avengers" by Whedon, "Easy Virtue" by Elliott, "Oscar" by Landis (NOT the Molinaro's original), "True Lies" by Cameron, "12 Angry Men" by Lumet, "Next Three Days" by Haggis, "Without a Clue" by Eberhardt, everything from "Hussar Ballad" to "Forgotten Tune for the Flute" by Ryazanov, "Peter's Friends" by Branagh, "Mamma Mia!" by Lloyd... and that's not even a tenth of them.

Omg. Totally orthogonal. I don't think II appreciate much any of these. Wow.

Sorry, I just remembered I DID seen him in cameos: Night at the Museum (and it's sequel). Williams was OK.

I know nothing about Khabenskiy. Agree with the rest of this list except for Depp. And Carrey, while virtually intolerable in his comedies, did something good too in a not-a-comedy, but I forgot what exactly ("Eternal Sunshine..." probably).
